America First Credit Union holds 87th annual meeting, elects board members

RIVERDALE, Utah (April 21, 2026) – America First Credit Union held its 87th annual meeting today, reaffirming its governance and continued service to more than 1.5 million members.

The annual meeting highlighted the credit union’s continued growth, strong financial position and commitment to supporting members’ financial well-being.

The meeting was conducted by Linda Carver, chair of the board of directors, with members participating both in person and via live stream.

The agenda included approval of minutes from the 86th annual meeting, along with the election of board members.

In accordance with AFCU’s bylaws, three candidates were re-elected by acclamation: Carver, Gil Miller and James Wendler. Each will continue serving on the board of directors, contributing their experience and leadership in support of the credit union and its members.

Cathy Person, acting chair of the nominations committee, provided an overview of the nomination and election process, including the responsibilities and qualifications required of board members.

Guests in attendance included attorney Bruce Richards, who served as Parliamentarian for the meeting, along with members of AFCU’s board of directors, executive leadership team and senior management.

Carver recognized fellow board members for their continued service, the five additional volunteers who dutifully serve on the Supervisory Committee, as well as Thayne Shaffer, president and CEO of America First Credit Union. She also extended a special thank you to the organization’s 3,500 employees for their commitment to serving members and supporting communities across all markets.

Written remarks from the board chair, supervisory committee and president will be available at americafirst.com.
