Running through May 31, the drive invites credit union members, employees and the public to donate diapers or contribute funds to support diaper banks and partner organizations throughout the region.
Diapers are one of the most requested items for families in need with young children, but are not typically covered by government assistance programs, creating a gap that many struggle to fill. The Diaper Drive helps meet that need, providing a basic necessity that supports both child health and family stability.
“Diapers are something every family with young children needs, but for many, they can be a real financial strain,” said Amber Greenwell, director of the America First Charitable Foundation. “This drive is about bringing our members, employees and communities together to meet a very basic need and support families in a meaningful way.”
As the need continues across the region, AFCU leaders say the drive plays an important role in helping families cover everyday essentials.
“Programs like the Diaper Drive are about meeting immediate needs while supporting the long-term well-being of the communities we serve,” said Tammy Gallegos, executive vice president and chief strategic engagement officer at America First Credit Union. “When families have access to basic necessities, it helps create a stronger foundation for everything else.”
This year’s donations will again support organizations including the Utah Diaper Bank, Arizona Diaper Bank, and Baby’s Bounty in Las Vegas.
Community members can participate by:
In addition to donations, AFCU employees will volunteer their time to help organize and prepare diapers for distribution to families.
The Diaper Drive is part of AFCU’s broader commitment to supporting families and responding to urgent community needs across the regions it serves, helping thousands of children access essential supplies each year.
