America First Credit Union marks Desert Color Branch opening with $10,000 in community donations

Support for local families and education highlights St. George expansion

ST. GEORGE, Utah (April 10, 2026) — America First Credit Union (AFCU) marked the opening of its Desert Color Branch in St. George, expanding its footprint in Southern Utah with its seventh location in one of the nation’s fastest-growing cities.

As part of the celebration, AFCU announced $10,000 in donations to local organizations supporting children and families, including $5,000 to Root for Kids and $5,000 to the Washington County School District Foundation.

Root for Kids is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children and families thrive, providing early education, health services and family support from pregnancy through age five. Since 1993, the organization has served more than 20,000 families.

The Washington County School District Foundation supports students and teachers by funding programs and resources that enhance educational opportunities beyond traditional funding sources.

“These organizations play an important role in supporting children and families in Southern Utah,” said Troy Stevenson, chief digital, product and retail officer at America First Credit Union. “We’re proud to support their work and to be part of a growing community like St. George.”

Located at 952 W. Black Mountain Drive, the Desert Color Branch provides convenient access to the credit union’s full range of financial services, including savings and checking accounts, home and auto loans, business services and financial guidance from local experts.

The credit union will continue the celebration with a community event Saturday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., featuring games, prizes, food trucks and family-friendly activities. Attendees can also enter a raffle for an electronic mountain bike, and new members can take advantage of limited-time promotions.

The new branch reflects America First’s continued investment in a region experiencing strong population and economic growth, while expanding access to financial services for members in Washington County and surrounding communities.
