America First Credit Union kicks off the new season with low-rate auto loans, daily prizes during “The Sweet Taste of Summer”

The summer season is officially underway and Utah’s largest credit union, America First Credit Union, is celebrating with low-rate auto loans for its members all season long. “The Sweet Taste of Summer” also offers 60 days of no payments on all new auto loans and gives members a chance to win loan payments up to $300 and interest-free auto loans with daily drawings.

Helping members cool down in the summer sun, America First will park its newly-branded ice cream truck on-site at various community events throughout Utah, celebrating “The Sweet Taste of Summer” with popsicle treats for attendees.

The contest runs now through August 31, 2017. Members can receive one entry for every $1,000 financed through the campaign dates. America First Credit Union, Utah’s largest credit union, opens Mt. Nebo branch location

Riverdale, UTAH (June 12, 2017) – Utah’s largest credit union, America First Credit Union, opened its newest location on June 5, providing its trusted services to the Nephi community at 965 N. Main St. The location is one 123 locations serving Utah, Nevada, Idaho and Arizona. The grand opening, beginning Monday, June 12 through, Saturday, June 17, will be marked with celebratory events throughout the week including daily drawings for a $100 visa gift card and a grand prize drawing for an iPad.

“We are very excited to have a new branch to better service our community,” said Carleen Sperry, branch manager. “The new Nebo Market Branch offers extended hours, drive-thru servies and a drive-up ATM, providing a seamless banking experience for our members.”

Sperry began a career in financial serviecs nearly 30 years ago as a teller, joining America First Credit Union in 2010. She has lived in Nephi since 1995 and has four sons, one daughter and 10 grandchildren.

The Nebo Market Branch is located at 965 N Main St., Nephi, UT 84648. Branch hours are 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

President and CEO John Lund stated, “I am happy and honored to report that 2016 was a successful year by every measure.”

Riverdale, Utah – (May 8, 2017) – America First Credit Union held its 78th annual meeting on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. The agenda included the Board of Directors election and filling its leadership roles. James G. Wendler, Linda K. Carver, and Gil A. Miller were elected by the voting membership to serve on the Board. James Wendler will continue as Board Chairman, with Linda Carver as Vice Chair and Kenlon W. Reeve as Secretary.

Taking place in April, the America First annual meeting provides an opportunity to share the success and financial state of the organization, as well as giving the membership the ability to determine the credit union’s course of action by electing volunteers to serve on the Board of Directors. These dedicated and qualified individuals share their time, talents and efforts without compensation, making them part of America First’s unique cooperative, not-for-profit structure.

The annual event was once again streamed live via the credit union’s social media accounts for added engagement and conversations online. America First Credit Union Pays Tribute to 40-Year Member of Board of Directors

Riverdale, Utah – (May 5, 2017) – America First Credit Union pays tribute to Edwin Cline, who served as a volunteer for the credit union for 41 years from 1976 – 2017.

Cline joined America First in the 1950s, where his experience as a member of prompted him to serve as a volunteer.

Edwin Cline began his service at America First as a field loan officer in 1976 and later became a field representative in 1978. Cline was appointed to the Salt Lake Credit Committee in 1986, where he held the vice chairman and chairman positions. In 1988, Cline completed the CUNA Volunteer Achievement Program and in 1998, was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors. He has served as an advisor of the supervisory committee and has served on the lending, data processing and ad hoc committees during his time on the board.

“We are profoundly grateful for Ed and his countless contributions to America First,†said John Lund, president and CEO of America First. “His service to our members, Board of Directors and the many others who have benefitted from his incredible work have made us the organization we are today.â€

Cline attended the University of Utah for two years, where his study emphasis was business. After 40 years, he retired from the United States Air Guard as the chief master Sargent. He was also the information processing manager and a senior enlisted advisor for the Utah Air Guard. Cline has been a member of the credit union since 1956.

America First Credit Union, Utah’s Largest Credit Union, Opens Traverse Mountain Branch Location

Riverdale, UTAH – Utah’s largest credit union, America First Credit Union, adds another service location in Utah Valley with the opening of its Traverse Mountain branch location in Harmons Grocery Store at 1750 Traverse Parkway, Lehi, Utah 84043. The location marks the sixth branch opening of 2016, with the most recent being West Point City on June 8. America First has 120 branch locations serving Utah, Nevada, Idaho and Arizona.

Samuel Thompson will serve as branch manager of the Traverse Mountain location. Thompson began his tenure with America First in September 2011 and has served as assistant manager at the Orem branch since September 2014.

A grand opening celebration will be held the week of August 15 – 20. The Traverse Mountain branch is located at 1750 Traverse Parkway, Lehi, Utah 84043. Branch hours are Monday – Saturday, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.

New branch location

America First Credit Union Opening New Branch Location in West Point Smith’s Marketplace

Riverdale, UTAH Utah’s largest credit union, America First Credit Union, joins in the growth in West Point City with the opening of its newest branch location on Wednesday, June 8 inside Smith’s Marketplace at 217 North 2000 West  North in West Point, Utah. As part of the first commercial retail center in the city, the Smith’s Marketplace will anchor a 19.4 acre commercial development named “The Point,” paving the way for additional jobs in the community.

The branch location marks the fifth branch opening of 2016, on the heels of the Jeremy Ranch branch opening in Park City, Utah on May 31. America First has 117 branch locations serving Utah and Nevada.

Amanda Thornton will serve as branch manager of West Point Smith’s Marketplace. An employee of America First since 2006, Thornton worked her way up through various roles within the credit union, including lead teller, assistant manager, market assistant manager, then service center manager.

A grand opening celebration will be held the week of June 13 – 18. The West Point Smith’s Marketplace branch is located at 217 North 2000 West  North West Point City, Utah 84015. Branch hours are Monday – Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

America First Credit Union Continues Second Quarter Growth with Opening of Jeremy Ranch Branch

Riverdale, UTAH – Utah’s largest credit union, America First Credit Union, continues its growth in second quarter 2016 with the opening of its newest branch location at 3151 W. Kilby Road. Serving members in Park City area and beyond, Jeremy Ranch welcomes members as it officially opens its doors today, Tuesday, May 31. Jeremy Ranch is the fourth America First branch to open thus far in 2016 for a total of 117 branch locations servicing Utah and Nevada.

The Jeremy Ranch branch will be led by Branch Manager, Nate Hathaway. A part of the credit union his entire life, Hathaway holds fond memories of sleeping in the manager’s office while his mother worked late shifts in the check processing department. Hired at age 16 as a student trainee, Hathaway was promoted throughout the ranks to lead teller, then loan officer. In July 2014, Hathaway was hired as a service center lead teller at the Centerville Pages Lane Branch, then in March 2015 was promoted to assistant branch manager of the Kaysville Bowman’s Branch.

There will be a grand opening celebration the week of June 6 – 11. The Jeremy Ranch  branch is located at 3151 W. Kilby Road, Jeremy Ranch, UT 84098. Branch hours are Monday – Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Financial institution gives members a voice to shape the “branch of the future,” and the future of banking 

RIVERDALE, Utah – America First Credit Union, a leading member-owned, not-for-profit cooperative financial institution, will launch its newest venture, the America First Credit Union Innovation Center, located in the center of City Creek Center in Downtown Salt Lake City, Utah next month. The America First Innovation Center will not serve as a traditional branch, but a collaborative hub to showcase the latest innovative solutions and give members and consumers a greater voice in shaping how they want to be served in the future.  America First will test multiple channel experiences to gain real-time feedback and use this insight to implement experience enhancements across its member base and within its 116 branch locations.

Opening the Innovation Center in the City Creek Center is a strategic effort as City Creek welcomes visitors from all over the state and surrounding areas.  This will allow America First to gain a wide range of collaboration and further enhance ongoing experiences.
