TAMMY GALLEGOS

Chief Strategic Engagement Officer

Tammy serves at the Chief Strategic Engagement Office for America First Credit Union, located in Ogden, Utah.  The credit union has assets of over $15.6 billion, over 1.1 million members, and 128 branches.  America First is the 8th largest credit union in the nation.

Tammy has been at America First for 33 years has served in several different areas including Branches, Accounting, Business Services, Project Management, and E-Business and most recently as Senior Vice President of Marketing, Communications & Service Quality.

In 2002, Tammy was selected to fill a new role at the Credit Union as the Vice President of Service Quality and given the responsibility to develop and put into place a service culture and service measurements in all areas of the Credit Union.  In 2003, after already implementing service surveys, member feedback channels, and secret shops, the Net Promoter measurement was implemented.  Because of the success of this program, America First was asked to be a founding partner in a new business called the Member Loyalty Group (MLG) that would provide a measurement for Service, similar to ROI for all credit unions.  There are currently over 100 credit unions that participate in this CUSO.  Tammy also is responsible for the social media experience at America First.  In 2014 Tammy was promoted to Senior Vice President of Marketing, Communications and Service Quality.

Tammy is very active in the credit union movement; currently participating on the Utah CUES Council, being a past chair, is a graduate of Western CUNA Management School and was a member of Filene i3 Group.  Tammy has been asked to speak at many conferences regarding service culture and measurements as well as social media.

Excellent communication skills and problem-solving aptitude along with being a self-motivated person and self-starter is what differentiates Tammy.  She is very task and detail oriented, can handle multiple priorities of equal importance, has an outstanding work record in working with members and has excellent interpersonal skills with members and employees.

Tammy is very involved in the community.  She started a mini Relay for Life Cancer walk at a local elementary.  During this time, this annual event has raised over $80,000.  This model for this event is being reviewed by the American Cancer Society in Utah for future events.  She also donates time serving as a board member for the Lantern House homeless shelter in Ogden, UT.
